Yeah, I can’t seem to hold on to my promises, can I? Well let’s talk shortly about that actually. I’ll try to keep this one short.
So, for the past few months I’ve been very busy working on Gerty. For the uninitiated, it’s a top-down rogue-like shooter that I’ve been working on with three other guys for more or less half a year now. The project has been more or less a full day job for all of us, so I haven’t had that much time for my own projects. While that in itself isn’t that big of a hurdle for writing these posts, I’ve actually been writing weekly development blogs for Gerty. Three months, every week we’ve had a post, combined with social media presence. And that stuff takes its toll. When I’m home and I have some free time on my hands, I either want to kick back and relax or actually do some work, not do more writing. This has been especially true for the past month, as I’ve written a full Indiegogo campaign (oh yeah, we have that going for us, more news soon), press kit material, the usual blog posts and whatnot… just a whole lot of text.
Despite all of this, I’ve actually gotten quite a bit of work done on project “Hop & Pop” (title still pending). I got my level editor done, but as it turns out, I’m gonna redo the whole thing to make it more user friendly. I’ve also been working on some placeholder graphics so that I could actually get the demo out someday. For a few months now the demo has been “a month” a way from release, but hopefully I’ll get it out before the end of the year. I should be able to pull that off at least, right?
So yeah. Go check out Gerty. I should really try to document my work on “Hop & Pop” too, but I have a feeling I won’t be able to with all my efforts going to Gerty. I’ll be working on it though, even if I don’t end up talking about it. Though it has been on a small hiatus for a few weeks now. Don’t want to burn myself out.
